Gears of War 4 was a game highly anticipated by my husband and I. We had discovered and played the Gears of War series back on the Xbox 360 and were anxious to see if the characters would carry over into this next step in the series. After all, didn’t Gears of War 3 wrap up the story? Weren’t the creatures that plagued their land gone for good?

Deadpool’s Motivational Posters

Fandom Friday

I love a good motivational poster. One of those images that you look at and you just feel like becoming a better person. These are not those. In fact, these are pretty much the opposite of those. These are motivational posters based on your favorite anti-hero. That’s right! Crude anti-motivational posters by Deadpool! Enjoy.

Warning! The images below contain crude and offensive language. Scroll at your own risk.

Last year, my husband and his best friend were able to attend PAX South right here in San Antonio. If you don’t know about PAX, it is a conference for gaming. They feature games of all kinds including tabletop games, video games, card games, you name it! One of the games that my husband came home all excited about was Song of the Deep. He kept telling me that the graphics were beautiful and he thought it was a game that I would really enjoy. I was so excited when it was released for the PS4 and snatched it up.

So there I was, scrolling through my Facebook feed when out of nowhere shows up this ad claiming that The Walking Dead : A New Frontier was available to play now. What! I knew that there was a new season in the works, but I didn’t think it would be available yet! Merry Christmas to me!

The next day I went on the PlayStation Network and low and behold there is a day after Christmas flash sale. I was able to score a Telltale bundle which included both seasons of The Walking Dead game along with the Michonne chapter and a game called 7 Days to Die for $15! As Dwight Schrute would say…

The Novelist: A Game Review

Video Games

I recently wrote about my struggle to keep a balance in my home life and work life in my blog post Merry Fictional Blog Challenge. As a student teacher, I strived to be the very best that I could be for my students. I wanted to be seen as an equal to all the fantastic teachers I had the privilege of working with. Teachers who had been teaching for years. That self created pressure caused a lot of stress in my home life. Perhaps that is what drew me to The Novelist. It’s been sitting in my Steam library for quite awhile, metaphorically collecting dust. I’ve eyed it a few times, but this time it felt right.

Merry Fictional Blog Challenge

An Update

It has been A-G-E-S since I’ve been able to sit down at the keyboard and actually write a blog post. Just a quick update before I get going on this Merry Fictional Blog Challenge brought to you by the lovely Katy over at Oh So Geeky. I have finally graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.

I’ve been hard at work doing my student teaching with the best host teacher in the world! She taught me so much about teaching and life in the classroom. She also made sure to stress how important it is to maintain your life outside of the classroom when you’re a teacher. I must admit, I didn’t do so hot on that one. I pretty much abandoned my family and friends and *sniff* blog to throw myself into being a teacher. The results? I always felt prepared and my students’ seemed to have fun (within reason). But my home life suffered greatly. I felt like a bad mother, a bad wife, and an awful friend. Plus, I missed writing to all of you! You three people who read this piece of the internet. Thank you three people, I adore you.
